Resentment prevails among bank pensioners over the alleged failure of authorities concerned to accept their demands regarding pensions over years.
All India Bank Retirees Federation (AIBRF) central committee member and All India State Bank of Patiala Pensioners Association general secretary Davinder Singh Jatana said the pension scheme for bank employees was implemented about 20 years back.
In spite of the time gap the scheme hadn't been reviewed so far.
He said not a single demand put forth by bank pensioners was accepted in the agreement reached with employees in May this year.
He said in the recently held conference of All India Bank Retirees Federation at Kerala the members decided to intensify the agitation which began in May, at the national level.
He said demands include an increase in pensions of bank pensioners, all pensioners must be provided uniform dearness allowance and family pensions must be increased.
Along with this decision's regarding other demands must be taken at the earliest.
Jatana added as per the decision taken during the conference of All India Bank Retirees Federation held in Kerala, bank pensioners would organise a dharna in front of the head office of the State Bank of Patiala in Patiala on January 7.
He added that a march towards the parliament would also be organised during the next budget session
