Shri R B Kishore
Dear Sir,
PENSIONERS ISSUES: LET US FIGHT FOR JUSTICE
Dear Sir,
The Insurance Industry Pensioners Associations need to understand that they have always
been getting better salaries and service conditions compared to the Central Government
Employees and Pensioners.
However, over a period of time the Pensioners and Retirees have suffered due to apathy of
the Management of the Insurance Industry as well as the Government of India.
Further, the Employees Unions have not been able to understand and fight against the injustice
being done to the Pensioners and Retirees. They have failed to protect the interests of Pensioners
and Retirees. On the other hand Pensioners and Retirees have not been able to press upon
the Management to including them as a party in Wage Negotiations which is their Legal Right
since they are deferred wage Employees as per Law determined by the Supreme Court of
India.
The Central Government Pensioners have already got Pension Updation and now likely to get
One Rank One Pension too as recommended by Wage Commission for which an appropriate Budget
is being made by the Finance Minister. The Central Government Pensioners are already getting Free
Medical Hospitalisation and Domiciliary Medical for life time besides Enhanced Pension for their
Sr. Pensioners (80+) and Family Pension where as the Insurance Pensioners are getting raw treatment
from the Management and the Government of India.
The LIC Pensioners are fighting in the Supreme Court of India for Implementation of their
Board Resolution with regard to Pension Updation where as the central emphasis need to be getting
One Rank One Pension as our Legalistic Demands based on Constitutional provisions.
The Courts including Supreme Court of India have repeatedly held that there cannot be different
Groups of Pensioners i.e. one who retired earlier and those who retiree now to get different
amounts of Pension which is a breach of Article 14 (Fundamental Right to Equality) and
Article 21 (Fundamental Right to Decent Living).
We need to fight for this by spreading the message as wide as possible among the Pensioners
and others including future Pensioners besides take up the plea with the Supreme Court on
the Constitutional provisions and not merely press for Board Resolution which may be giving
free liberty to Management to withdraw it or not implement it at their will.
Let us organize, unite and fight for our Legal Rights.
