Janmashtami
is popularly known as Gokulashtami or Krishna Janmashtami,
which marks the celebration of birth of the Lord Krishna. it is
believed that Lord krishna, the Hindu deity took the eighth avatar of Vishnu.
The festival is celebrated on the August 25th and Dahi Handi is celebrated on
August 26th. This occasion marks the birthday of Lord Krishna which is

Dahi Handi is celebrated on the
second day of Janmashtami and on this day ,“Baal Gopal” idol is also placed in
a cradle as it signifies his birth. This occasion brings people together and
encourages goodwill. Lord Krishna were born to Princess Devaki and
Vasudeva in Mathura but he was raised in Gokul by his foster parents Yashoda

According to Hindu calendar this
festival is celebrated on the 8th day of Ashtami of Krishna Paksh in the month
of Bhadon of the dark fortnight. Lord Krishna, the Hindu deity is considered as
the most powerful human incarnations of Lord Vishnu. It is said that he was
born around 5, 200 years ago in Mathura and his sole aim was to free Earth from
