*JOINT FRONT STATEMENT ON CHAIRMAN'S APPEAL*

3rd April 2018.

     As you all may be aware, The Chairman has issued a statement yesterday. This appeal has been posted on Jeevansanchar. Some unions too, have received it individually through mail.

     The main thrust of the statement issued by the Chairman is to appeal to the employees to withdraw the agitation of *NO EXTRA CO-OPERATION*  The statement also implies that if our performance is superlative, then the management will have a higher moral ground for approaching the Government for resolution of pending issues. 

    We have to state here that we respectfully disagree with this. LiC has been posting a superlative performance for many years since its inception. It has performed well after 16th October 2015 too. Thus the management had ample oppotunities from October 2015 till now to take a moral high ground for resolution of our pending issues. This is amply reflected in the hefty dividend we pay to the government every year with pride. We are already on a moral high ground when we do not require capital infusion & on the contrary we contribute immensely to the growth of the nation. 

  Some of the benefits quoted in this appeal too, have been granted only after a considerable delay and after a long struggle by the employees. 

    It would also be in the fitness of things if the Honourable Chairman would have personally appealed to the union representatives instead of posting it on our Jeevansanchar site.

    Our stand is clear. Our agitation will continue at least upto *Final Closing of Accounts* or the satisfactory resolution of our pending issues, if it is earlier. After the Final Closing of Accounts, we will take a call about the future strategy.
