Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has shared a major update on the occasion of the Indian Independence Day.    On Tuesday, August 15, 2023, Akshay Kumar revealed that he has renounced his Canadian passport and is no longer a citizen of Canada.    Akshay Kumar celebrated the 77th Independence Day of India revealing that he is now an Indian citizen.    On the occasion of Independence Day 2023, the Indian actor took to the microblogging platform X (formerly Known as Twitter) and confirmed that he has finally obtained his Indian citizenship.    The Bhool Bhulaiyaa actor shared the proof of obtaining Indian citizenship on X. Akshay Kumar shared a picture of the official government documents that noted his full name as Akshay Hariom Bhatia.    "Dil aur citizenship, dono Hindustani," the Housefull actor wrote alongside the post, "Happy Independence Day! Jai Hind."
