EASTERN NEWS ::OCTOBER,2023

Respected Readers,

We extend our heartiest greetings on the occasion of the greatest Festival of Eastern India, "DURGA PUJA''. This year Durga Puja starts from 20th October, Maha Sasthi and ends on 24th October, the day of Bijaya Dashami.

The Durga Puja festival is celebrated also in other parts of the Country, as well as in other Countries of the Globe, arranged by the local Indian communities residing there. This festival is basically a religious festival, but over the period of time, this has become a Social Festival of get together and enjoyment among the close ones.

By now, you have come to know that we have finally achieved our long pending demand of revision of Family Pension, and the Govt. Gazette Notification in this regard for payment of Family pension at a uniform rate of 30% without ceiling, already issued dated 11.09.2023. The administrative instruction for release of family pension at an enhanced rate of 30%, also stands issued by LIC on 21.09.2023. It is a historical day no doubt, in the struggle of Pensioners' movement and it could happen by relentless efforts of the Association with the active support & efforts of all Unit leaders and members of the Association in general. This involvement and support were the real motivating force for the struggle in achieving our long pending demand. This achievement demands a mark of rejoice and celebration, as our Family Pensioners all over the Country shall be getting enhanced quantum of pension from this month, their financial hardship would be minimized.     The 'Eastern News of OCTOBER—2023 issue' is published in this auspicious month, and is sent in attachment of this e-mail. We pray to the almighty GODDESS, DURGA MAA, wishing good health and peace of mind for all readers & members with their family as well.

We are looking forward for your valuable suggestions on this issue to enrich us for making improvements in our future issues.

Regards.
