When GOI/LIC was adamant to introduce in early 1960s pre-computer age inferior mainframes which was after all a slight upgradation of then state of art addressograph/tabulating machine used by private insurers and adopted by LIC later Aiiea fought it tooth and nail for ideological reasons by falsely stating that it will lead to retrenchment As it ignored even written offer of "no retrenchment" saying they will not adhere it ,unit employees and newly recruited Assts were punished to retire at the entry level job itself ie., Asst/A+Rs 30. No unit employee was categorised as HGA as if it is a specialised job but AAOs above HGAs were recruited without licentiate/associate/fellowship examinations. Few chamchas were promoted directly to HGAs and AAOs on the grounds of passing these examinations and got number of promotions like officers and GOI/In-Service punished both by not yielding upgradation of pension by not recognising pension is undisbursed wage even by their unworthy TUs for the last 3 decades. Karma laughed over them. The same GOI was against computerisation in all fields by introducing 300% import duty and made India back ward in 1980s.Infosys, Wipro, TCS later fought against it and Internet which was within research institutions became mainstream made them billionaires and crores of people are employed in IT and other industries. Smart phones had come and even uneducated people have them and using them to earn more in work/ business. Now AI had come and India is one among the top countries to develop and use it to earn more and more. AI is now creating more and more variety of jobs to earn and very soon poverty will vanish in India just like extreme poverty was diminishing day by day over a decade and now it is no more.
