I had a telephonic talk with RM(E & OS) of our Zone this morning informing him that in the light of the CO circular dt 14/1/2016 to the Zonal Managers permitting deduction of Mediclaim premiums for the policy year 2016-17 from February 2016 pension onward, the premium instalment deducted from the pension for December 2015 needs to be refunded to the pensioners and no deductions for January 2016 and February 2016 should be made as scheduled earlier.
RM(E & OS) promised to look into the matter and do the needful.
I also talked over mobile with Manager(E & OS) DO , Hyderabad referring to my conversation with RM(E & OS). As he is on leave upto 25th inst, he promised to talk to his AO looking after Mediclaim to contact the ZO and take necessary steps.
Later in the day,I also talked over mobile with ZM, and discussed the same matter.He was outside and promised to to look int the matter tomorrow.
Let us now await the steps that will be taken by the ZO for issuing suitable instructions to all the Divisions in the Zone.
In the meantime I would suggest all members to submit the consent and authority letter for monthly instalment deductions from February 2016, well before 15/2/2016 to the OS departments of the respective Divisions.
